Raise the Rates - Take Action
One of the best actions you can take right now is to educate those around you about the Raise the Rates campaign, and the struggles faced by cuts to assistance including the Special Diet. If you would like to set up a screening of our short video 'Poverty and Health: The Special Diet' please contact us at raisetheratescampaign@gmail.com and we will be sure to get your started. Some of our prior actions around Raise the Rates are shown below.

The launch will be on Friday, May 13th at Beit Zatoun- 612 Markham Street (Bathurst St. and Bloor St.), 7:00PM, Toronto.
Visit the Stop Wage Theft area on CUPE Ontario's website for more information
Attend the Poor People's Assembly - March 19th, 2011 - Toronto
In various cities across Ontario, poor people and their allies will be holding assemblies to plan a fight back and challenge the Liberal government on its attack on the poor. This campaign calls for the special diet allowance to be restored and for an increase to welfare and disability rates. Join us at the Poor People's Assembly on March 19th, 2PM at 1900 Davenport Rd. There will be a free meal, on-site child care and Spanish, Somali and ASL translation available.
Join us at the Rally for Respect - April 9th, 2011 - Toronto
Toronto City Hall has been cutting, closing, imposing user fees and attempting to privatize many of the public services that we need for strong communities in Toronto. Join us at Dundas Square for the Rally for Respect on April 9th at 1PM to march to city hall and show them that we care about our communities, public services, and good jobs.
Rally on April 15th, 2010 at Noon
See the photographs from the rally here
ENOUGH is ENOUGH! It's time to send a message that the working poor and impoverish people in Ontario did not cause the economic crisis and they should not pay for it. Together we need to develop a strong and united network that will fight for decent and dignified income and push back against the ongoing attack and claw backs on our public services. Join us for a rally at Allan Gardens Park, Toronto
