CUPE Activist Angela Connors honoured with Access, Equity & Human Rights Award
The City of Toronto this week awarded CUPE Ontario Activist Angela Connors for her tireless work in support of the City's First Nations community. On November 25, Connors received the 2010 Aboriginal Affairs Awarded, given in conjunction with the City's annual Access, Equity and Human Rights Awards.
Born and raised in Toronto, Connors is a member of CUPE Ontario's Aboriginal Council, and a tireless advocate on water issues.
Established in 2003, the Aboriginal Affairs Award is given to persons or organizations whose volunteer efforts have made or are making a significant or ongoing contribution to the well-being and advancement of Toronto's Aboriginal community.
