|Help ESL instructors achieve a fair collective agreement
32 CUPE members of Local 2221.1 are in bargaining with COSTI Immigrant Services.
Their collective agreement expired on March 31, 2011 and they have been in bargaining since May of this year.
Bargaining has been slow and difficult and as a result the local filed for conciliation on June 29, 2011.
They are fighting to protect full-time jobs, as well as for a wage increase similar to other CUPE members at COSTI.
These members teach English as a Second Language and a strike or lockout would serious jeopardize the success of their students who will be approaching their final tests.
Please take a moment and send a letter to the COSTI Board of Directors and bargaining team.
