|URGENT: Toronto all-members meeting
All CUPE members are urged to join CUPE Ontario President Fred Hahn and Secretary-Treasurer Candace Rennick at the Sheraton Hotel on Monday, January 16.
Together at this historic all-members meeting, we will map out support for our sisters and brothers in locals 79, 416, 4948 and 2998, who face massive layoffs thanks to City Council’s proposed budget. Now more than ever, we must unite in support for Toronto city workers as they struggle to get a fair contract and to keep our city services public.
Special guests include CUPE National President Paul Moist and Secretary-Treasurer Charles Fleury, Toronto District Council President Helen Kennedy and John Cartwright, President of the Toronto & York Region Labour Council.
Bargaining is not just a Toronto locals issue. It is an issue that affects all CUPE members. Other employers are watching Toronto. Your workplace might be next.
Please share this message with other members of your local, with CUPE friends, and on Facebook and Twitter!
