City workers touch every part of Toronto life. They fix the roads, provide emergency care, test drinking water, connect us with library resources, run ice rinks, work in child care centres, lead community workshops and much, much more.
The City and Local 416 have settled, but City negotiators continue to press the library and inside workers with demands for significant concessions. These are the workers who provide the services that make our city great, and these concessions would damage the services Toronto residents depend on.
Right now, as government austerity threatens to put thousands of Ontarians out of work, public services are more important than ever. These unstable economic times are exactly when we need affordable, reliable services most.
Whether you live in Toronto or visit the city for business and recreation, let city councilors know how public services make Toronto better for you.
